Categories & Prize Money

• The Professional/Elite category is for athletes with a World Triathlon Corporation (WTC) Pro License. It is also includes athletes with an Elite or Under 23 Elite License from Triathlon South Africa (TSA) or any other National Triathlon Federation
• Age Group Elites is a single open category for any athlete that can prove, upon entering, completing a 5150 or other TSA/National Federation sanctioned standard distance triathlon under a certain time: For a males a sub 02:15 is applicable and for females a sub 02:30. Athletes need to supply proof of such results when entering the event. (If you fail to do so, you will be bumped to the conventional age group category)
• Age Groups are for the majority of athletes who will complete in their traditional triathlon age group divisions i.e. 18-24; 25-29, 30-34, 35-39 and up. (Should you enter as an Age Group Elite you will not receive a trophy in this age group division).• Teams may consist of two or three athletes (mixed / all male / all female). One category for team prizes exist, regardless of their composition; i.e. First, Second and Third.
